The Method of Extending the Service Life of Optical Fiber Jumper

The method of extending the service life of optical fiber jumper
Optical fiber jumper refers to that the connector plugs are installed at both ends of the optical cable. In optical fiber communication, the common specifications of optical fiber connectors are SC, FC, SC, MTRJ, LC and other models. Optical fiber jumpers have a thicker protective layer and are generally used in the connection between optical transceivers and terminals.
Fiber patch cords are divided into single-mode and multi-mode. Single-mode fiber jumpers are generally yellow, and multi-mode fiber jumpers are generally orange. Fiber jumpers are relatively soft and are mainly used for indoor wiring. The connector of the optical fiber jumper is relatively fragile, and the maintenance of the optical fiber jumper is more complicated than that of the ordinary network cable.
1. When using optical fiber jumper wiring, the connector of the optical fiber must be protected with a protective cover, so as not to be contaminated with oil and dust, which will damage the coupling of the optical fiber and affect the transmission speed and distance.
2. If the connector of the optical fiber jumper is dirty, it will affect the transmission effect, so protect the connector. If it is accidentally dirty, it is best to use alcohol to clean it instead of water.
3. To protect the ferrule and the end face of the ferrule to prevent bumps and pollution, put on a dust cap in time after disassembly.
4. When wiring the optical fiber, try to pull the cable as straight as possible to reduce multiple bends. In case of bending, the radius should not exceed 30MM, otherwise it will damage the fiber core and easily affect the transmission speed of light.
5. Route the optical fiber so as not to be trampled on and cause damage.
The cost of optical fiber is relatively high, and it has not completely replaced copper cable at present. Copper cable is still the first choice for office wiring, home wiring, residential wiring, and dormitory wiring, and its installation and maintenance costs are relatively low.
